A slow morning in Seia

Tomás Rocha

4 min read

Stone buildings in a rural village on a hillside

Seia wakes up slowly, which is its charm. By eight the bakery on Rua Direita has sold its first batch and the cheese market is setting up beneath the plane trees.

Start with a bica at the corner café, then walk up to the miradouro for the valley view. The soft cheese from the region is the thing to buy, ideally still warm from the farm.

Be back at the house by eleven. Lunch is better when you have earned it.

Stay a while.
